About me
Born and raised in Northern Colorado, I am an adventurous career nanny (and dog-lover) with 15+ years of professional nanny and babysitting experience and a passion for rearing environmentally conscious, thoughtful and considerate tiny humans. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to work with children of varying ages and developmental stages, including infants, toddlers, school-aged children and those with high medical/mental health support needs.

I began educating children formally in a small, local music school in Fort Collins, CO. I engaged kids (ages 18 months to 6 years) in music related activities including exposing them to the sights and sounds of different musical instruments, rhythms, hand and vocal exercises and the basics of reading music, as well as an introduction to piano. This experience opened my eyes to the greater joys of teaching children. Watching confusion transform into curiosity and the unknown become known, in real-time, is one of the most magical experiences. Music can touch the tiniest hearts and minds and bring out their unique, individual personalities.
I am a trained CNA (certified nursing assistant) with an active certification in CPR and first aid. I have also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science and a minor in Nutrition from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, as well as pre-medical requirements. This background in healthcare has been incredibly beneficial during my time as a nanny, only adding to my toolbox of relevant experience.
Though starting with younger children and growing with them allows for a special bond to form, the challenge of earning the trust of older children leads to an unforgettable connection. Regardless of age, I love nurturing their unique interests and curiosities and supporting them as they grow into their extraordinary, authentic selves. Children have such an incredible knack for pushing us to grow and adapt, while ensuring that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
I love to engage the children in fun and stimulating activities throughout the day. Some of my favorite ways to do this include age and developmentally appropriate sensory play activities, imaginary playtime, story-telling, unstructured outdoor play, fort building, and other planned playdates and day excursions. I approach childcare inspired by Montessori and RIE ideologies, which are based intentional, mindful, and respectful practices that prioritize compassionate boundaries and confident leadership.
I thoughtfully encourage a growth mindset in children by modeling and narrating my process. Though often uncomfortable, I welcome constructive feedback and respectful conversations regarding sensitive or difficult topics. Curiosity, kindness, and humility are some of my most essential tools for these moments. I consistently look for ways to grow as a person, nanny and mentor. By seeking out and participating in professional development opportunities, expanding my toolbox through books, podcasts, and credible social media creators, and cultivating an extensive network of nannies locally and worldwide, I aim to empower and educate parents and other caregivers and build a diverse, caring community of compassionate childminders.
